About your hair type
Curly hair is gorgeous and a lot of people envy those who have it. Even though it looks good, it is very hard to manage and look after. Naturally curly or frizzy hair lacks moisture. This can cause the hair to frizz or feel dry and brittle at the ends. Any sign of humidity or damp and curly hair tends to triple it's size and go frizzy. Lots of people either resign to straightening their hair or putting it up into a pony tail.
How to look after your hair
Curly hair should be cut regularly, as it tends to grow outwards. Regular haircuts will help you to manage it a bit easier. Curly hair is naturally quite dry compared to straight hair, so try to restrain from over bleaching, straightening it too much and colouring your hair too much.
With curly hair we always advise not to use a hairdryer! If you have to, leave it slightly damp, otherwise you will end up with an afro. If you can, use a diffuser. This will require some practise but once you get the hang of it its so much easier.
Shampooing and Conditioning
For curly and frizzy hair the best shampoo and conditioner to use is the Redken Fresh Curls range. Redken Fresh Curls shampoo and conditioner nourishes curly hair, preventing frizz, leaving curls smooth, soft and bouncy. It enhances your beautiful natural curls and makes your hair easier to manage.
